When it comes to male American icons, the milk glands of homo sapien females rank right up there with erectile dysfunction and the Super Bowl.
    However…
    Few, if any American males, have a clue as to the reason for their strong interest in the size of a woman’s breasts.
    Nor are they aware of the powerful role female breasts have played in cultures dating all the way back to the Ice Age some 30,000 years ago (see Venus of Willendorf).
    The latest current theories suggest the dynamics of  male's attraction to female milk glands are the result of  nature over nurture via a combination of:
    (1)  Maslow’s hierarchy of needs (Procreation)
    (2)  Evolution (Big boobs good for babies)
    Certainly this thesis is supported by the fact that males among higher apes are virtually indifferent to the milk glands of their female counterparts.  
    But as to why millions of  homo sapien females feel the need to undergo both the considerable cost and physical pain involved in the surgical enlargement of their mammary glands….?
    Personally, my bet is we’re probably talking acculturation here.
    Especially since surgically enlarged milk glands on a 21st century American female make as much sense as racing spoilers on a four-door Dodge Neon sedan (see illustration below).
