Destination Dystopia

Hi Kids!
Bet you didn't know....
The fastest-growing segment of our population consists of individuals lacking the education or natural intelligence needed to remain self-sufficient in today’s increasingly complex technological society.
In other words, the demands of technology have been and are constantly “raising the bar” of competency for those trapped on the “losing” side of the Bell Curve.
    Examples:
   - A century ago,  ”unskilled” workers like ditch diggers,  street sweepers, or furnace stokers were able to earn enough money to take care of themselves.
   -  A half century ago there were ample jobs which enabled “semi-skilled”  production line and office workers to provide themselves with the “basic necessities” required for daily survival.
   - But now, the “skilled” workers of yesterday are finding it increasingly difficult to earn a living in a job market dominated by the “specialist” and the “super skilled.”
Trouble is, no one in any leadership position seems willing – or politically able – to address any of this in a culture still clinging to the idea that “survival of the fittest” applies only to lower animals, but not to homo sapiens because “God is on our side.”!
   Bottom line?
Given the cruel duel realities of Darwin and Adam Smith plus the absence of The Man In The Sky, it’s more than reasonable to envision a future populated by an ever-increasing under-class incapable of taking care of itself.
Which, as a far as dystopia goes, is about as dark as you can get.
Of course, we could be wrong – which means things will just keep getting better and better and better….
