Farcebook

When Enough Is Enough!
Several folks have asked why I recently slashed the ranks of my cyber "friends" on the social media Facebook from more than 300 to less than 30.
In most cases, it was nothing personal.
Rather, I increasinlgy found myself unable to process the combined flood of posts and comments constantly being generated on my "wall" by the E-community I'd created.
For example, it was not unuusal for a single post from one "friend" to generate as many as a dozen comments from his/her "friends" ...which, multiplied by several  hundred, reduced my "wall" to a cyber Tower of Babel overloaded with far too may voices, opinions, pictures, and meaningless "social" static.
Again, too often I found myself frightened -- and depressed -- by the tsunami of narcissism and ignorance that drives much of the "social" dynamics of Facebook.
My experience with Facebook left me feeling that -- as mediums go -- the medium's meager content is lost in a storm of meaningless "social static."
In short, my reality is for more pleasant without the cyber chaos created by an overdose of  "friends" on Facebook.  JKdeG
