Godly spoon & Satanic fork
    When first introduced in 16th century Tuscany, Roman Catholic clergy waged a holy war against the use of forks.
    Forks, the minions of the One True Church argued, were “ungodly” because their vain and worldly users chose a pronged metal device to feed themselves, rather than their God-given fingers.
   Further, as a sign of “good breeding,” polite society encouraged the use of ONLY three fingers as a means of feeding yourself – the pinky and ring figures being socially taboo.
   And some people insist Christians have not lost their faith.
