Why I Can't Forgive Amando

 Armando Codina

While maintaining a remarkably low profile throughout his meteoric ascent  to vast wealth and power, Armando Codina today is a (1) Miami-Dade billionaire, (2) child of America’s Peter Pan Flights, (3) Capitalism’s answer to Socialism’s Fidel Castro and (4) a key player in one of the most turbulent eras in our nation's politics.
Now, as to to why I believe Armando merits a front row seat in the lower depths of Dante's hell, consider the following time line:

  Jeb's Daddy George (Right)
Then Vice President under Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush pressures Armando into hiring his silver-spoon son Jeb to manage commercial property for the Cuban-American’s  Miami-based real estate firm – the opening of a door, which in time, turns the once struggling Jeb into a millionaire mover and shaker.
 Armando's "Boy"
Armando’s connections in Miami’s conservative Cuban-American community provide Jeb with a strong South Florida political power base.
After first failing to defeat Populist Senator Lawton Chiles in a race for the Florida’ Governor’s office, Jeb is elected CEO of the nation’s 4th largest state – thanks in no small part to his Dad’s political handlers and Armando’s aliance with Alva Chapman, the Miami-Herald’s born-again Anglo power broker and founder of Miami-Dade's Non Group.
 Thank You Jesus!
Where Orange Juice Queen Anita Bryant failed, Jeb introduces Bozo Christianity to Florida politics. Among Jeb's Born Again high points, tax dollars for religious schools and his battle to continue feeding the vegetative Terri Schiavo with a stomach tube -- along with Florida's current infestation of Politicians for Christ.

Bros from Hell
In 1970’s Presidential Election from Hell, Governor Jeb, his Daddy's political handlers and Florida’s conservative Republican cash cows team up to manipulate a bizarre legal victory that sends brother George “Mission Accomplished” Bush to the White House instead of former Vice President Al "Save the Planet" Gore.

So thanks Armando.
You and your money have forever altered the political history of a people and nation that gave you sanctuary from Fidel more than a half century ago!

With Every Bad Wish,

  John deGroot
