    For centuries, the idea that one person deserves special treatment because they are more talented than another has stained the dream of equality for generations of Americans.
    And nowhere is the cruel and un-American policy of inequality greater than in our nation’s professional sports --  where a rigid system of Meritocracy has denied both the equal treatment and  fair compensation of countless players hoping for a fair chance to represent their team's community.
    The answer?
    True diversity in professional sports through affirmative action.
    After all, look how well it’s worked in government and private businesses.
    And certainly,  no industry has enjoyed the benefits of diversity more than our nation’s newspapers, including the Miami Herald and the Sun-Sentinel right here in South Florida – where for years the composition of their newsroom staffs has increasingly come to reflect the demographic make-up of their respective communities.
     Now…
     It’s not that the National Association for Affirmation Action Now (NAAN) consist of a bunch of wild-eyed, whack job liberal loonies.
     Hell no.
     Like no way are we suggesting the Miami Heat’s roster should include short people, gays, or women.
     However, we do  feel  the inequality inherent in meritocracy-driven professional sports  is both immoral and un-American – AND MUST END NOW!
     Take, for example, the NOT Miami Dolphins – a shameless un-American jungle of Meritocracy.
     Just consider …
     Like in only a few weeks, the NOT Miami Dolphins’ starting roster will be cut to 53 players
     But will these 53 players reflect the demographic make-up of the community they represent?
     Absolutely not – thanks to the cruel and un-American mechanics of player Meritocracy!
     However..
     Not to worry.
