Why Normal's Only A Setting on Your Dryer
Dollar Sign                Why We're "Floriduh"
Today
 – By an act of Congress, the Dollar was chosen as the official currency of the United States 226 years ago today. Named after the Northern European taler or thaler, the American dollar’s value was back by gold, then silver and now China. The first US dollars were coins minted gold. The first paper dollar was printed  in 1862. Of interest:  Other than George Washington’s portrait, the average American doesn’t have a clue as to the meaning of most of the symbols on the dollar -- although the $ sign has become a global symbol for more powerful than the Mogen David, the Christian Cross, or the Muslim Crescent.
Birthday Boy
–  The second least popular US president  after Richard M. Nixon, George W. Bush was born 65 years ago today . Elected the nation’s 43rd President thanks to a voting debacle  in Florida, Bush believed in Jesus Christ as his personal savior, weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and the designated hitter. Which is how and why most American comedians still mourn W’s leaving the White House*.

*Trouble is, reality suggests
George W. Bush was about as
funny as a global dose of clap!
