 – Today marks the 151st  anniversary of the world's first formal debate regarding the merits of Darwin’s Theory of Evolution.  Although they declared no winner, the debate was held at the  Oxford University and featured from of England’s leading scientic and religious minds. That said, the fact that Americans are still sharply divided over whether or not we’re descended from Adam and Eve or small hairy primates  is a textbook example of Cultural Lag, denial and the dismal failure of our nation’s education system.  Today, as in the past, the battle between Edenists and Evolutionists centers those who believe in The Man in the Sky versus those who do not. Thus, we find  – regarding  the religious belief of those who agree evolution best explains how and why we are here :

Birthday Boy A former Miami police officer and pioneer professional wrestler, Man Mountain Dean nee Frank Simmons Leavitt was born 120 years ago today in New York City.  In was as a Miami cop that Leavitt met Doris Dean – who became his wife, wrestling manager and the source of the mountain-sized man’s ring name. Following nearly 7,000 matches in the professional ring,  and an unremarkable film career, Dean retired to a farm in Norcross, Georgia  where he died aged 63. In the ring, Dean was known for use of the Double underhook and  the Release German – which serves as living prove that anyone can be known for something.
