What’s in a name?
Everything.
At least when it comes to American automobiles.
Which is why we have the
Ford Mustang – instead of the Pony.
Or the Dodge Ram – instead of the Goat.
Or the Corvette– instead of the Cortage.
Or the Lexus – instead of the Zero.
Anyhow…
What follows is a partial compendium of car model names not likely to “work” in today’s automobile market:
Beaver, Blotch, Clutch, Creep, Doodle, Ding, Emo, Flip, Flop, Gay, Geek, Hint, Ho-Ho, Poke, Piggy, Rat, Rimmer, Snort, Slug, Toad, Trudge, Weenie, Wang, Woo Woo, Yap, Yip, Zippy……
