Today:   Builder of the car first beloved by Nazi’s and now coveted by the world’s Uber Rich,  Mercedes-Benz was created 87 years today.  Arguably the most famous vehicles manufactured by the German car maker were the three “Swabian Colossus” models built for Adolph Hitler. Weighing nearly four tons, each modified Mercedes 540K featured a super-charged “straight” eight cylinder engine, bullet-proof glass, parade grips that enabled Hitler to stand safely in fast-moving parades and mounts for official Nazi party flags. In current dollars, the Third Reich paid more than $2 million for each of Hitler’s massive MParadewagen” – which today are considered priceless Nazi memorabilia by their wealthy private owners.
